“You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”
― Ansel Adams ♥
Mais algumas dele, que merece múltiplas citações:
“To the complaint, ‘There are no people in these photographs,’ I respond, There are always two people: the photographer and the viewer.”
“Sometimes I arrive just when God’s ready to have somone click the shutter.”
“There is nothing worse than a sharp image of a fuzzy concept.”
― Ansel Adams ♥
♥ “Taking pictures is savoring life intensely, every hundredth of a second.” – Marc Riboud
♥ “The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.” – Dorothea Lange
♥ “Above all, life for a photographer cannot be a matter of indifference.” – Robert Frank
♥ “Ultimately photography is about who you are. It’s the truth in relation to yourself. And seeking truth becomes a habit.” – Leonard Freed
♥ ” If a day goes by without my doing something related to photography, it’s as though I’ve neglected something essential to my existence, as though I had forgotten to wake up.” – Richard Avedon
♥ “To photograph is to hold one’s breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It’s at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy.” – From the book: “The Mind’s Eye: Writings on Photography and Photographers by Henri Cartier-Bresson
♥ “As far as I am concerned, taking photographs is a means of understanding which cannot be separated from other means of visual expression. It is a way of shouting, of freeing oneself, not of proving or asserting one’s own originality. It is a way of life.”
– Henri Cartier-Bresson
♥ “To take photographs means to recognize — simultaneously and within a fraction of a second — both the fact itself and the rigorous organization of visually perceived forms that give it meaning. It is putting one’s head, one’s eye and one’s heart on the same axis.”
– Henri Cartier-Bresson
Boris Kossoy
